To lend yourself to hope
you needn’t pretend.
It’s not delusional to extend your heart beyond
a circumstance
and expect to find…
As dust settles on those left behind,
Others stand as tall as their strength allows.
If you've no strength today, maybe tomorrow.
Fear of uncertainty, or certainty, keeps many hiding.
Until there is nothing left to fight, or left to lose
We choose for ourselves, while we still can.
